Colt's Manufacturing, the company that has made the iconic gun dubbed "The Peacemaker" for more than a century, could pull up its Connecticut stakes after coming under fire in the national debate over the Second Amendment.

I've been collecting Colts for many years and they were always my number one favorite, especially where the SAA is concerned. But Colt is it's own worse enemy. It unfortunately sold it's soul years ago in exchange for govt contracts.

It never treated it's civilian customers with the same enthusiasm as they did when it came to manufacturing M-16's for the military and police. They drooled over their foreign govt contracts as well. In addition over the past 30 years, or more their quality control stinks and their products have unfortunately taken a dive. I personally buy nothing manufactured after the 1970's from Colt.

A number of times I've sent for letters regarding some collector Colts that I have and usually have to pay $200 a pop. I can understand a company wanting to make money, but they really try to get blood out of a stone and are only a shell of their former self. Believe me, if they do leave Conn. it's not because they support us, but only to go where the dollars are. Asa company they can't hold a candle to Magpul.

Colt has a small shop in Florida. I think they would be welcome here.

They will be welcome here in IN! We have the gun friendly laws, people, skilled workforce and infrastructure to allow immediate production upon arrival.

Finally, a big name may be considering other options. Not that Magpul isnt a big name, but Colt is a much bigger and more well known company. I would love to see them pull up and moved out of that Liberal death trap.

Brattleboro, VT is 1:22 from Hartford, CT. It's straight up I-91. Not too far for a motivated employee get a room, and come back home for the weekends until a suitable new place for the family can be found.

Really? Why what would give that impression?

Say, I bet there's plenty of room for a shiny new Colt factory in Morgan, UT. Right up the road from Browning. Seems like a good fit to me.

It boggles the mind how many firearm manufacturers are in non-gun friendly states. I know it is expensive to up and move, but Connecticut did not just recently become anti-gun, or New York. They should have taken their business elsewhere a long time ago.

COME TO KENTUCKY!!! We would welcome, respect and appreciate the hell out of Colt!
