Who screwed up? Someone is going to be blamed. How dare someone clandestinely publish an article favorable to guns and even saying the Grand Poo-bah has it wrong. Everyone knows he is infallible.

I just finished writing the author an email thanking him for taking a stand for intelligence. I hope hr doesn't loose his job, and more pro gun reporters in that area follow his lead.

I doubt the reporter will face any disciplinary action. All articles in any newspaper have to be approved by two editors before they are published. The writer did his part by writing the article he was assigned to write. Given the Chicago Tribunes history it will be followed up by an article saying banning assault rifles is a waste of time. Lets ban handguns!

I also sent the writer a thank you email. That was about the most cogent bit of writing I have seen lately.

We are waiting to create a "Ripley's Believe it or Not" section. Things like this- and Bigfoot, Elvis, UFOs.
