That is interesting. I have lived within 5 miles of Georgia and didn't know they had open carry. I wonder if they accept open carry with out-of-staters who have CCWs?

I know in MA they still do a quick check, but from what I was told by a few cops and several FFL holders, it's to make sure that the CCW is still valid (like, wasn't revoked or there aren't any criminal warrants/restraining orders on you). As far as trying to look into the actual laws about it, I tried reading them, and almost had an aneurysm.

A gun owner that supports strict gun laws. When a person with a permit is convicted of a crime his permit is pulled. If you are convicted of a felony Federal laws prohibit you from owning a firearm.

Since I hardly ever buy anything that is not C&R eligible any more, all I do is hand over a copy of that, the necessary money, and I am out the door. Or I deal with private sellers where there is no hasssle at all.

I would think if I were to commit a crime that would make me ineligible to buy a gun, that the State would also revoke my CCW permit.

The check doesn't bother me that much other than having to pay for it. I have never had a problem with a background check being approved unlike my friends in my earlier post, but what does really irritate the hell outta me is the 2 day wait on a handgun. I have to drive 30 to 50 miles to get to a shop that handles handguns. I have to drive there and pick out a gun and buy it then I have to drive back there 2 days later and pick the damn thing up, its BS. CCW should get rid of the waiting period too.

Ky bypasses the check for CCW holders.

You could get your FFL and then have them shipped to your home with a dealer discount. If you have a decent size town you should be able to move enough product to qualify as "making a living" as the ATF wants.
