Default Can you carry in a bar in Pennsylvania?

Well i have been working at a neighborhood bar as security/bouncer

I have been wanting to carry since i started working there, i handle a decent amount of money and could be a reasonably soft target

lately a larger shady crowd has been flocking in and the want to conceal has increased
when i work there is no alcohol near me and i will not touch it. can i legally carry in a bar in PA? I have asked a few friends that are LEOs and have gotten vague responces

Why not ask the local law enforcement? You should get permission from your employer as well.

Do you have a concealed carry permit. If so you should be able to answer that yourself. If you dont have one, go get one. That will be covered in the class that is required.

You're going to have to read the statute in your state. I know in some states if you own or are in control of the premise you can carry if your not intoxicated. Either way I would say be careful. Definitely read what you can and be educated before doing anything

Keep looking into this before you carry as part of your job. In a lot if cases, you can carry in your place of business even without a permit. Since your job is, essentially, security, carrying a sidearm while you work falls into a different category. Security guards and the like who carry as part of their job in PA are required to have Act 235 training and clearance.

Carrying as a patron and carrying as an employee would make a difference. Generally speaking you cannot carry in a bar in PA. My suggestion is to read the appropriate statute and if in doubt call the PA State Police.
