Default California Senate to Consider Sweeping Restrictions on Ammunition Sales!

http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Read.aspx?ID=3994

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Please Contact the Members of the Senate Public Safety Committee Today!

Assembly Bill 2062, sponsored by State Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), is scheduled to be considered by the Senate Public Safety Committee on Tuesday, June 17.

AB2062 would make it a crime to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a “handgun ammunition vendor” in the Department of Justice’s database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require vendors to keep a record of the transaction including the ammunition buyer’s name, driver’s license, the quantity, caliber, type of ammunition purchased, and right thumbprint, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice. All ammunition sales in the state of California would be subject to a $3 per transaction tax. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited. Any violator of AB2062 would be subject to civil fines.

Please contact the members of the Senate Public Safety Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to oppose this onerous attack on our Second Amendment freedoms. Contact information can be found below.

I think it's up to the people living in California to solve their own problems...after all, they elected these shi$heads! They passed a ban on lead ammunition in some county out there to protect the condor from ingesting lead...now there's talk about extending the ban to the whole state! Maybe inthe next election cycle they'll choose more wisely...

I didn't vote for any of those *******s. Northern California's (Southern Oregon's) best interests are reflected by the liberal masses in Central and Southern California, however, Northern Cali doesn't have the population base to come up with a majority vote. These idiots, like all other elected officials are self serving and don't have the best interests of the people that they represent at heart.

Oh, boy... it always starts with California.... it has always been said that the attack will come from the ammunition side.

Heck, you can GIVE guns away, but if the ammunition runs out, no big deal.

I've been around for a while, but I've never been more worried than I am right now about the next four years... no matter who is in office.... super liberal or bipartisanship lover.

What did I say not a week ago in one of these threads??? Database... it is going to be all about databases....

The way I look at it is there are 2 California’s, the real California and commiefornia. The real California people need to just slap the holy Sh_t out of the commiefornia so******ts and run them out of town tarred and feathered on a rail. Or stand then against a wall and execute them in mass groves

Within Sacramento, Ca. city limits, in order to purchase ammunition, a form must be filled out detailing the caliber, number of rounds and manufacturer. A driver's license must be presented and photocopied, the info recorded on the form and the buyer must provide his right thumbprint, also placed on the form.
This is all courtesy of the Sacramento City Council.

This is another reason why my wife and I will be leaving the Granola State by Christmas. We're both sick and tired of being continually squeezed out of rights and freedoms while getting higher costs of living and higher crime rates in return.

BTW, I work part time in a gunshop and having to do this foolisness is a huge PITA and having to do it when the shop is slammed, verges on insanity.

Years ago when I studied law, it was always said that Calif was almost the "testing" ground for new laws before the rest of the country got them.

Four years ago when I drove cross country, when I arrived to CA, I was greeted with a car search (or wanting a car search, I refused [no grounds] and they let me go on my way.). What fun.

Going into Mexico was less intrusive. But that always left me with the "feeling" that CA was another country within the USA. lol I did not stay long... lol
