Canada tried to 'register all guns' and it failed miserably, and they did not have 'law' on their side as we have, or should have!!!

Again, they seem not to be seeing the obvious. Most of this money is for checking lists to see that Joe Citizen has a problem, which may be temporary, and they are sending people to collect his guns. While the obvious problem with illegal guns is in the Barrio. Why don't they use some of that windfall, go down into the Barrios and hoods, and drag guns out from those inner city Democrats. They are the ones causing problems with the illegal guns, not Joe Citizen.

Ahh logic. A foreign concept to Democrats and gun grabbers. If these people can look at the violent crime statistics in England, Canada and Australia since their gun grab and say it is good, what can you say!

Lindley told lawmakers last week that it would cost about $25 million for 50 law enforcement investigators.

????? That is $500,000 each! Do they each get a Ferrari? Is that number for a 10 year period or something? Maybe they know nobody is going to do gun confiscations for less than that!

Evidently it is very profitable in Kalifornistan for background checks. The gov/czar just stole 24 million from the fund.

Anyone see this whole thing as a cash cow?

I believe you will find that your 2A protection is just about as strong as the will of those who are prepared to fight for it (speaking metaphorically, of course). The gun control forces arrayed against us, and particularly against you gun-toting 'Mericans, should not be underestimated. It will be relentless and it will try every door. Repeatedly.

It was interesting, though, to see that CA already has something that resembles a "registry":

"SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Gov. Jerry Brown announced Wednesday that he has signed legislation expanding the ability of state agents to seize firearms from nearly 20,000 Californians who are not allowed to have them...

The program, which is unique to California, cross-checks five databases to find people who bought weapons they are no longer legally allowed to own....."

Confiscation always follows registration. Always. The power is too tempting for both bureaucrats and for politico-cops.

We had numerous instances of creeping confiscation when the RCMP knew who owned what. Over time, they even concluded that the AP80 needed to be banned, presumably because that .22 rifle looked wayyyy too scary. Same with the Walther G22, I guess. Etc. etc.

Confiscation is easy once you have a registration requirement - you know where the guns are and then just revoke the person's registration(s). It appears that CA already knows where the guns are.
