Virginia WAS one handgun a month unless you had a CCW, but the legislature passed a law YESTERDAY scrapping that. Goes to the Governor for signing (he has said he will sign it)

The legal way is annoying but not nearly as annoying as all the paperwork that will be filled out during your trial. Plus the prison sentence, that's probably going to be annoying as well.

Default Not saying oneway or the other but...

Me and a friend of mine who lives in WV. went to the Nations gunshow and he bought a handgun (CZ97BD) and was required to send it to a FFL in his state, it took about a week, he may have had to call the FFL and have him fax their info to the dealer here in VA I'm not sure about that part so I would think you could buy your gun here and have it sent to a FFL in your state.

Does that mean there no longer is a restriction on purchases or that even with your CHP you can only buy 1 a month? Cause that's half the reason I got my CHP

Private sales are required to go through an FFL. I still would not be able to take possession in another state and transport it into CA. Legally.

I have always arranged ahead of time with my LGS in the event that I did want to purchase out of state. Haven't done it yet though.

Woody- you can only receive a handgun in your state of residence- private sale or frrom a dealer.

Re: change in VA one gun a month- once the law is signed by the Governor AND goes into effect, Virginia will no longer have the one a month restriction.
