Default A Backpack For Law Enforcement/Military Use Only

So now backpack makers are making them for LEO's and Military only and the rest of us low lifes cannot have one. I sure will not spend any money on their items from this point on.

It's still early, but that is the most asinine thing I have seen all day.

More than likely it was an order for specific duty backpacks from a federal agency and the agency did not want them produced for the public. I am sure one of the Chinese companies will fill the need and another Made in America business will get the government shaft because they are not allowed to produce a desirable item. Camelback does a lot of business with the military so they are not going to jeopardize that business.

It's probably just massively overpriced like the $600 toilet seat of the '80's & they just couldn't stomach screwing over civilians.

This has got to be a spoof. I just looked at Camelbacks website and found the "Urban Assualt" backbacks. They make a regular size for 129.00 and a XL size for 159.00. Cheap or inexpensive by my standards. They do have a version that supposed to hold (3) M-16 magazines but it's nothing special. Looks like this magazine feature is really a external pocket to carry Nagline water bottles. Looks like a backpack for colledge kids as they're set up to carry laptop, sunglasses, I-pod,etc...

They're not really the "cats azz" for backpacking or carrying very much volume or weight and the appear as if they would be uncomfortable. However, their water resivoir , which many "real" backbacks are designed to fit these, are probably the best made.
