That kind of thing is true. I speak from personal experience. One of my nieces, a Columbian citizen (quick backstory: my oldest sister's mom was an exchange student at my dad's highschool in the 70's. She went home knocked up. Hence my oldest sister is really a half sister, and lives in Columbia).

Anyways... My niece was discovered to be on the no fly list when she was only two years old. They found out as they were trying to LEAVE to go back home to Bogota.

They were detained for over 12 hours, and the little girl was questioned multiple times. She only speaks spanish, and it took them nearly 3 hours to track down an interpreter, but that didn't stop them from questioning her in English for several sessions.

The ONLY thing TSA did right in the situation is that they at least allowed the girl to stay with her mother, and provided food, refreshments, and an actual bed to take a nap in.

Locutus, you only are open to information that fits your world view. I hope someone doesn't stick a needle thru that straw and put your minds-eye out.

Why would you propagate misinformation on purpose ?
Especially being a moderator on the site.

I hate this because I fear the unknown....and there are no limits to how broad and discriminatory this agenda can be used...

I am caught in a very potentially awkward position because I was the perfect "test age" when Facebook launched. I started using it in college circa 04 and kept it around over the years to catch up with friends, post dumb crap from time to time and now continuously use it for social reasons. My wife wife posts family pics of us from time to time but we have a system for what goes online and what doesnt.

Once FB started messing with privacy settings and went public a couple years back...thats when I realized that tens of millions of people will now be faced with a raw truth.....wondering just how serious some of the content they posted over the years could be....specially if used against them somehow. Ive learned that social media and online forums force something from everyone whether you like it or not...or understand it or not.....ir forces honestly. Although we speak from our fingers, we speak our true thoughts. And unlike verbal speaking, this communication leaves a trail. Who the hell knows what kinda of animal a prosecutor could try to paint you from seemingly harmless photos. I love my guns, could some a$$hole try to portray me as an obsessed maniac for posting pics of them? Easily.

Anyways, Ive been in damage control mode for the last year cleaning up old posts from my college days and VERY careful what I post these days, and how I present it. I am publicly "out" as a pro-gun guy who speaks about my lifestyle/passion with utmost respect and intelligence. I try to represent us to my 500+ friends and family with nothing but positivity. I dont repost stupid internet MEMES or anything that portrays us in a bad light. Im a hard working, college educated family man who does everythign by the books.....so I suppose an online paper trail isnt so bad if its used properly.

I considered shutting down the FB and deleting any online forum accounts but then I had a realization a few months back.....why the HELL should I try to run and hide from what I believe in? Im not a bad guy, I do things by the books and you know what.....SOMEONE needs to be a strong voice and represent this community ya know?

So, I'll keep doing what I do...always with respect and using common sense. If I had it to do over I would have never touched these damn online forums and social media sites but now I will try to make them work for me, never against me

Godspeed!

Short story...
Several years ago, a few young girls got busted, I believe in NC, for distributing child porn.

They took nude pictures of themselves for boyfriends, and sent them through Myspace.

Most of the evidence I gathered against my ex, which was instrumental in getting me custody of my son, was gathered through Facebook.

Nothing on the internet is private.

Good thoughts, StainlessSteel215. If we get to the point where we have to go underground and hide our beliefs and thoughts, we have already lost. But the U.S. has run its course as the "land of the free". Congress should have been disbanded years ago. We have so many laws on the books now, that nobody can keep up with them. And every new law they crank out is designed to protect the bigwigs in DC from the citizens.
And there are so many "czar's", "bureau's", and "departments", that make their own rules independently of any legislation, we have become "subjects" instead of citizens.

Haven't heard this on trustworthy conservative outlets like Fox or Beck.
I don't know about CNS News but anyone and access FedBizOpps.gov and search for current Government Procurement needs.

Something like this would most likely come up as a "solicitation to bid" under keywords like IT, information systems technology, or something like that.

Great post SS.

I would agree that the "typical filter" we all use when speaking is non existent with online media. We speak the truth and we do so from the heart due to the sense of "anonymity" forums provide. FB has much less of a sense of anonymity so I think we all apply a bit more "filter" when communicating there.

Regardless... the internet is the modern communication tool, I see no way around that... and I view it the same way Ben Franklin viewed his printing press when he published "Poor Richards Almanac".

Beyond the noise... and the public displays of stupidity... are Actual American Citizens having serious policy conversations regarding the path of our County and I for one, will not allow fear of what a faceless agency "may" do, to dissuade me from speaking the truth.
