I think that is an exageration; not all readers would simply dismiss a point that wasn't properly punctuated or perhaps wasn't entirely grammatically correct. There can be little doubt that a truly closed-minded person can more easily dismiss a statement or idea that isn't presented in a clear manner, but i don't think an idea has to be presented using perfect spelling and grammer to be clear. Further, a truly closed-minded person won't be much swayed by even a very well-written argument or statement of position.
Personally, i appreciate the passion expressed in some grammatically imperfect rants.
