Try this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8RDWltHxRc

Also, that video is from 5 years or so ago. I would like to see some fresher results from Australia. What is happening now with gun crime and home invasions? Have they had any school shootings since the ban? These are the questions I expect that the anti-gunners will be asking me. i need those answers to be able to hold up my end of the debate.

Any of you Australians have any new stats on this?

Watching them cut those guns to pieces is horrible. Imagine how many awesome guns were destroyed. Its hearbreaking. I hope and pray we dont end up like australia.

I was in Australia when the Tasmania tragedy happened and when they put the firearms ban. If i could recall correctly.. that time seemed like the gun owners were just following the laws. law abiding citizens. Oh well maybe i was on my 16/17 years old, didn't notice much.

That number is off. Civilians may outnumber the military firearm wise, but there are a lot more than a million military small arms even. I would venture to say there is at least a single firearm for every soldier, sailor, airman and Marine at the very least which is about 1.5 million active duty. That's not taking into account personnel such as myself with two weapons issued. At the same time, I can't think of a single military member that I've ever met that would see coming to your house to confiscate your weapons as a lawful order, no matter who issued it. We take an oath to protect and defend the constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic and a threat such as public disarmament would seem to go against that.
