Default Anti-Gunner Recall Election: In Rhode Island!!!

Yep, four members of the Exeter city council wanted the state of Rhode Island to take over the issuance of concealed carry permits. Now they face a recall election.

Quote:
Four of the five council members are now the subject of a recall election to be held Dec. 14 after they angered local gun owners with an idea to tweak the way the town issues concealed weapon permits.

"It's frustrating. I'm a gun owner myself. My sons are hunters. I have no problem with the Second Amendment," said Councilman Bob Johnson, who, like the others facing recall, is a Democrat.

Earlier this year, the council passed a resolution asking the state's General Assembly to allow the state attorney general to process the permits. Under current law, those seeking a permit may apply to either the attorney general or their local police. Since Exeter doesn't have a police department, the job now falls to the town clerk.

The four council members argued that the clerk lacks the resources to conduct proper background checks. Some 22 permits have been issued in the past two years.

Gun owners are sick and tired of getting pushed around. We're fed up with being blamed and punished for urban violence and the random acts of a few nut jobs. It's encouraging that some gun owners are pushing back. We need to push harder.

Yes, we are making an example of any Pol who wants to curtail any Part of the BOR! If they can't handle it they need to go back to school and study Both World and Am. History....

Recalls are great but I still miss the old days when we could publicly tar and feather these guys.

I've believed for a long time that we can't just defend our rights, sometimes we have to take the fight to them.

If we fought as hard for CC reciprocity as they do attacking our rights that they are trying to take, there's no way they could stop it.
