Anti-Gun A-Holes in Grand Junction
1 Attachment(s)
I was out at the range today and someone ran out in front of me and flagged me down. They told me that people were getting flat tires. She showed me a bent up nail that she had picked up. She had hundreds of them. She said she thought she got them all. But then I noticed one right in front of my truck...then another... and another...and another. I must have picked up 75 or a 100 myself. I drove in at a walking pace and warned everyone I saw. It is the range out in East Orchard Mesa. Be careful! This is what they look like. Someone went to a lot of trouble. It must have taken hours to put hundreds of them in a vise and bend them one at a time. They have vise marks on them.

Anyone got a dusting kit?

What dirt bags. Sounds like an easy way for an anti to get beat down and left in the woods with a vehicle that will never run again.

Were LEOs contacted? Do they seem to care? I sure hope this kind of crap doesn't start happening in my neck of the woods.

Yea. The police have been notified. Come to think of it this is outside city limits. I will see if the Sheriffs Office knows about it. I have a good friend that is a Seargent with the SO.

That is a dangerous threat to drivers.

Make sure that LEO is aware.

Not just drivers; but, what if you are on horseback, hiking, motorcycle. Looking at some of them, you step on one of those, it will go into your boot and into your foot.

I am sorry for your geographical disadvantage and hope it is only temporary.

That is some crazy-ex-wife type crap right there. :(

Didn't I read something about such anti-tire devices becoming a felony or something in TX? caltrops

Maybe CO has something similar on the books.

I talked to my friend at the Sheriffs Office. They know about it. But they dont seem to know anymore than we do.

Might be a good area to mount some game cameras now that hunting season is over. You never know what you might catch.

Rick1967 04-10-2013 11:21 PM

It is a heavily used area. You could fill up a game camera in an afternoon. The thing is there are also dirt bikers that use the area. Imagine two dirt bikers riding together. Front rider flings one of those at the second rider. I am thinking criminal act if that were to happen. Maybe something like wreckless endagerment, or even involuntary manslaughter?

They are lucky nobody caught them. I would have simply gotten their license plate and called the cops. I imagine other people might have turned their car into swiss cheese.
