Default All Lead bullets banned for hunting in California

I can't send a link in emails or to sites. Not sure why.
California has passed a bill that bans all lead ammunition for hunting.
Catch 22. There are 19 petitions to BATFE to approve manufacture of non lead bullets for some time. BATFE hasn't responded to any of them
This is what the enviro whackos and anti Gunners are engineering and was an introductry trial at Fed level with M855 ammo.
I'm not endorsing the site but it is Govt Slaves info.
Also say cost of ammunition will cause 36% of Hunteers t give up hunting.
Non lead amunition will cost 300% more.

Here is one link. I’m sure there are others.

So they are phasing out lead bullets for hunting, where the hunter takes the animal home and consumes it, but not for target shooting, where the bullets lay around in a berm or leach into the ground water and wind up in the prey animals anyway?

Makes about as much sense as an elevator in an outhouse.

Just another Cali gun grab.

Sorry, but this is not an accurate statement. Prohibition of lead bullets in some areas enacted in 2013, published expansion of areas several months ago. Go to the CA Game Commission for info.

except lead will not leach into ground water in any detectable levels. duck ponds that have been used for centuies with hunters shooting lead have no discernable increase in lead levels from shot.

this has never been about lead poisoning animals as there have been hundreds of studies with none confirming this utter myth.

it is solely about banning hunting and guns.

It is about the Condors ingesting lead from the gut piles, animals just left to lie, and dying of lead poisoning. Very real issue.

Here's a link with a lot of info about the issue with lead and Condors in Arizona, and what they have done to reduce the problem (voluntary use of non-lead bullets in Condor ranges or removing gut piles and all animals shot with lead bullets).
