access to NICS

Write your congress critter and ask him/her to sponsor/support an amendment to the NICs law allowing all citizens access.

If we get that, the whole reason for the universal background check is blown out of the water.:D

Could the system even remotely handle that? During the peak of the panic, the system was way overloaded.

I'd would support that IF AND ONLY IF it was not a requirement.

Ive always thought that was a good idea. The same as access to your own credit report.

They should do this with the no-fly list too. It wouldnt change the fact that your name was (or wasnt) on it FWIW.

We should have access but really, the list should probably not even exist as it is. They dont prosecute those who willfully break the law attempting to buy something they are not entitled to by law. Nobody involved in the NICS system has a damn thing at stake in this other than having to correct it at some point if you can prove to them your not guilty of something they erroneously report.

Any level of failure to deliver on our rights is not acceptable to me. Is it ever OK to deny a citizen Free Speech? We should be able to see our NICS report but I would be a bigger fan of doing away with it altogether.
