They aren't getting it wrong. They are changing it. A generation or two taught differently and the law is changed without ever changing it.

And as long as we stay on them like stink on a warm pile, they will fail.

Parents and Grand Parents are the ultimate teachers of our youth. :D

The first restrictive gun laws were used by the Southern Democrats to keep freed men from owning arms. The Eastern Democrats used the firearms laws to deny immigrant Irish from owning firearms. The Midwestern Democrats used gun laws to assure the safety of crime bosses who run the city.
Today the Liberal Democrats are on the gun forums preaching the Obama line. Gun owners should not oppose "Common Sense" gun laws. I think after 170 years and 60,000 gun laws we need to show some common sense.:p

Did your parents and grand parents go through your school books and point out all the lies in them? I'd bet not. Mine didn't.
I had to continue my learning on my own after I finished school. I quickly came to the realization that basically everything I was taught in school was a lie or half truth.
This generation has no interest in thinking for themselves never mind learning. The next generation will be worse.

MM Things changed in the 1960s. America's Heroes were held up to the students as bad people. Washington was no longer the "Father" of our Nation. Washington was painted as a slave holding tyrant. The Socialist wave had to destroy the Nations pride to establish state-ism.The result 50 years later is a failing Nation like the Socialist states of Europe. :(

Like yours, mine did not either. But at least mine told me things that I could verify.

It is up to us to keep teaching the youth of today. All it takes is one. That one tells two and so on.

We give up the fight when we are dead and not before.

Apologies to Donovan...

When I was a young man, I was led to believe
there were organisations to kill my snakes for me
ie the church, ie the government, ie the school-
But when I got a little older, I learned I had to kill them myself

i think you hit the nail on the head. our generation was taught to think for ourselves and to question what didn't seem right.

we were taught to trust, but verify. the newer generations simply trust, without question, and no verification. truly sad. many of the newer generations are nothing more than mindless robots, lacking the ability to think for themselves.

Freedom is still on the menu....it will take middle America to keep it there.

To those of us who swore the oath, we know exactly what the 2A is and means for our freedom. Snakes beware.
