I own two ARs and two mini's, each configured differently. I love them all.

Default Tired but just know some are not informed.

It is all good........well, in some states anyway.

I got a Mini when California didn't allow AR's anymore, and asked what would fit the bill for 3-gun. I was told a Mini.

Got one, shot it some, and was not thrilled with the target feedback.

Worked on it some, tried to make my own stabilizer with moderate success and just kept on trying.

Then I was able to handle a friends AR, an Eagle or Bushmaster that had been tuned up with a heavy barrel and a compensator with great results. Even with my old eyes, poor technique and limited bench time, I got a couple targets with five holes well under an inch at 100 yards. This was great.

Then I went home to the Mini, and thought, same round, same distance so why the accuracy discrepancy.

So started with a heavy barrel with my own gas block and got some reamers and did it all myself. At the range, I was greeted with a few targets under 1 inch and a few just over 1/2" all at 100 yards.

Yes, the Mini can!

Don't get me wrong, the Mini was my first rifle and will keep it forever as my baby.

But I do have a couple AR-15's and just bought my AR-10 NM upper.
Black Rifle Fever I guess. Go figure?

There have been so many of these threads it makes me sick.

Each gun has it positives and negitives. I skipped reading the thread, this is just my reply.

If you like the Mini better than the AR, buy a Mini. Like the AR better, buy an AR.

I have Mini's, I like them better, my best friend has AR's, he likes them better. Both will do the job. It's what makes you happy. Don't worry what anyone else thinks, you are the one shooting it. Be proud of either.

Give me either and your a gonner at 300 plus yards. Over 300 yards, I'm using my Savage .308 Tactical bolt gun.

Just end this, it does no good at all.

Yes, this should cease, and since this is the Mini-14 section of the FAT Forum, we should simply end this debate with the common understanding that the Ruger Mini-14 is the best looking, best performing semi-auto rifle chambered in .223 of all time...amen.

From what I can tell, the thread WAS pretty much dying until the last two posters had to dig it up again!

This thread is about MINI 14's. Not M14's.

Anyone who thinks M14's sucks is in danger, because the Hand of God may strike them down for even having the thought.
