Scope Consideration for Mini 14
I'm sure this has been done elsewhere but what are ya'lls thoughts on a good, well priced scope for my new Mini 14 Tactical? For the record I have a Accu Strut and ATI stock on the way for it. Other than that no mods yet.

What type of shooting are you doing most? Close tactical type shooting a 1-4 power works well in a scout mount. I get out and hunt with my minis so I like the Nikon and Leopold brands in 3x9 power. You need a good scope because the way the minis action cycles, it's hard on cheap scopes.

I will target/plink shoot the most. I will do some hunting though. Most likely coyote/bobcat, possibly a hog, or even a whitetail if the oppertunity comes up. I'm leaning towards a 3X9 or close to that. I know Nikon has a line of scopes made for the .223 bullet, but wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much on one.

A good scope in 3x9 or 2x7 is a good choice.

The Burris Timberline scopes are great for Mini14/30 and smaller carbines. I have (2) 2x7 and the last one I purchased is a 3X9 as they do not make the 2x7 anymore. They are all 32 mm objectives. Have run a fair amount of rounds on a 6.8 mini 14, did some deer hunting with it and got along fine with the scope.

I have the Revolution 2-7 on Minis, the 3-9 on a .375 and a 4-12 on a survival-style M700 .308... I like 'em!

Got my new scope today! It's mounted and ready to test so hopefully this weekend I'll have a good report for everyone.
