I think the point of the OP was to point out the POTENTIAL accuracy of the Mini14 platform, and address the "Mini's never shoot straight" statements that are so common.

Mini's take a lot of heat for their "lack of accuracy" but I think these targets show what at least one Mini can do.

The ability of the shooter has been called into question, but is that done when someone shows groups fired by "other" rifles or carbines?

huh?? I have a mini 14 target and my 3 shot at 300 yards you can put a dime over? i dont see how you can say the mini 14 is only a 150 yard gun? new or old..

That's sub MOA@ 300yds.....can you post some evidence of that claim?

i was just wondering, do you have any first hand experience with mini 14s? because every mini i have shot is pretty dang accurate. With my target mini 14 i will give you those groups at any distance as it sits right now it is almost 2" high at 300 yards and at 550 im dead on. i shot my mule deer buck at 380 yards last year, i put the cross hairs at the bottom of his jaw and the bullet entered right under his ear.

Yes, I bought my first mini 14 in 1984...how about you?

You hunt/shoot Mulies in the head with a .223 @ 400yds? - that's incredible marksmanship. How did you manage to acheive that level of accuracy ? I see many custom bolt guns that can't do that. Please post some pics of your incredible kill, I'm sure you took a picture or two?

I will chime in on the accuracy as well. My new mini is balls on accurate out of the box. My fathers mini is from the 80's and he was dropping bucks at up to and beyond 300 yards. The gun is only as accurate as its shooter. Give me any platform and with time to site it in I can shoot it accurately.
