Defaultmy new mini 14

my uncle gave me this mini 14 for my birthday, i shot it yesterday at his ranch. i hit the x on the silhouette target 28 times and had 2 more rounds in the 9 ring at 100 yards its freaking accurate, it doesn't hurt that i was taught to shoot by the worlds best instructors when i was a marine. i have read a lot of people say that they are not accurate and that it takes a lot of money to make them accurate. i say bull! you just need to know how to shoot.

stereotyping is wrong

just because yours is accurate, dont paint them all with that brush.

and afa me not knowing how to shoot, maybe, but ive got a wall full of awards that says otherwise.

never the less, they are nice little guns. i still wont get rid of mine even though it wount hit the broad side of a barn from the inside! its still a fun gun to shoot and built off of a nice design.

im glad you got a good one!

ruger said the reason they were inaccurate was they were being machined with old tools so they completely revamped everything all the newer models are supposed to be pretty accurate mines pretty good at a 100 yds.

I have a mini-14 and it's pretty accurate. 75 to 100 yards is were I find it to perform best. Not the most accurate .223 weapon out there, but still decent.

Great looking mini! Is it a 180 or 181 series? I really like the wood hand guard. I've got a couple mini's myself, one that has been modified and one is bone stock. They are great guns, however some start doing some funky things when the barrels get hot. But there's some neat stuff on the market to combat that nowadays.

One thing is for sure; they are one of the most fun guns I've ever owned to shoot. Enjoy it!

I had a Mini 14 and I loved it. The only negative was that it liked to throw brass for about a half a mile.

I've owned three Mini's over the years. I have one of the newer tactical models and LOVE it. I'm even starting to like it more than my AR's (though it will never replace my SOCOM 16).
