Mini weekend plans.....
Happy Labor Day weekend! I plan on shooting some more tannerite, I have been saving some jugs for the occasion, my nephew is in from the Marine Corps again and will ship out next month. I may get out early on Monday and chase a coyote and if I am lucky get a hog! The weather is excellent, cooled down to the upper 80's and low 90's from the 100+ degree temps.;) Also there is a new Cabellas close, may have to visit too!

What is everyone up to for the weekend?

Might go do some scouting today. Have a bp shoot on Sunday. Aside from that, just anxiously awaiting the call that my AR has arrived.

I put in a food plot this morning for deer and broke out the old shot gun this evening for a little dove blasting. Very little blasting. I only got one shot off and it missed. Like every opening day of dove season it was hot and miserable, but it gets the blood flowing. And you know good things are just around the corner.

Sunday, I plan to finish putting up paneling in my reloading shed. Which will be great because of I've got some bullets to load for deer season including a few for the mini!

Monday morning is golf on one of my favorite courses followed by an evening dove shoot on a much better field.

As kid I hated labor day because it meant that summer was over. Now I absolutely love labor day because it means that summer is over!!!:D

Yesterday I was with my family having a big cookout on my brothers new smoker. My cousin's son and a buddy stopped by, the buddy was an exchange student from Germany. We walked down to my brothers house and let him shoot a few guns, my brothers Savage 10 308, the buddy blasted a water bottle and he was very excited! It was very cool to share an experience with him, he had never fired a gun. My brother made sure to go over the safety and good shooting procedures. We let another friend shoot a 1/2 lb tannerite charge, they all loved it!

I got my trigger back from Gundoc for my mini 6.8, I can't wait to try it! This weekend is my wife's birthday so no shooting action but next weekend I will get out and do some shooting. It feels 2x better just working the group by hand! ;)

Went out with my daughter and her friend the weekend, they had their bb guns and I had my mini 6.8 with a new Gundoc trigger I have been waiting to fire. The girls were chasing squirrels, frogs, turtles but the dog treed a ground hog for them. They unloaded a fury of bb's and decided it was time for dad to put him out of his misery.

Gundoc's trigger jobs are awesome! Me and my brother shot several rounds and enjoyed every shot!;)

Went out this weekend and worked on my mini 6.8 and dialing my 5 rnd mag in with my 110 gr Vmax loads. Did some scouting for hogs, the neighbor killed one last weekend! I have seen some deer moving around too! I am ready!

All I have done this weekend is reloading for my 6.8. We have antlerless deer gun season open now but it's still too warm, mid 70's.

My son killed a 5 pt buck today with my 6.8 mini. 110 gr Vmax did a great job! He took a well placed shot on the chest and the bullet blew out a lung and a part of the shoulder. We tracked about 100 yds to find the deer. Pictures posted in the hunting forum.

Did some shooting with my old 196 mini and found a factory 20 mag that needed some tweaking. I think I got tuned, I shot several 55 gr hand loads with different powders at 100 yds, 1" orange dots. Several loads were with Varmit powder 24.5 gr, it shoots as well as H335 for me and meters about the same load data. 1st group in the center was from a cold barrel but all the other shots did well, 3 shot groups to save time for the load test.
