Just picked up my first Mini today. I went for a Mini 14 but damn the luck, all they had was the 30.

hey i noticed something among alot of these purdy minis.
that har-bar. does that honestly do anything at all or is it just for the looks. whats to stop me from just clamping extra metal on the barrel if all it really provides is a "heat sink"

The struts help improve accuracy by stiffening the barrel. (act as a heat sink also). there are some here on this forum who have made their own. Maybe someone will chime in with some pointers.
