Mini-30 Lube
I've got a Mini-30 that I acquired in 1993 that I'm going to use as a truck gun.

The Ruger manual just says to use oil on it. On my M1 Garand & M1A I use Tetra grease with good results. Since the Mini-30 is very similar to those two, what does every one here suggest? Thanks.

I prefer grease myself. I use oil for lube in hard to get to places and places with springs like inside a bolt on a bolt action, but other than that I use grease. I just have more confidence in it. :)

I use grease, too.

what type/brand of grease do y'all use? where do you use it?

I use Tetra, and pretty much where I see the blue worn away or know two parts slide against each other, I put a little grease.

I've used Hoppes gun grease for as long as I can remember for wiping guns down and lubing. Sometimes I try something different for lubing just to try something different I don't really have any complaints about any of it so long as its grease.

For grease I use Mobil One Synthetic grease from the auto store. A 6 dollar tub will last a lifetime for all your firearms..

Good Karma

I like Tetra also, I polished the action with a dremmal tool and rubbing compound. I clean after I shoot and probably should oil more than I do. I wipe down and scrub with a toothbrush and Hoppes Elite.

I use Hoppe's Gun Grease, following the old mantra:

"If it rotates, oil it. If it slides, grease it."

I like the Sno Gun Grease from Birchwood Casey.

Not cheap, but I am a firm believer of "you get what you pay for"
