Default Mini 30

I just picked up a Mini 30. The seller was out of work and needed money. I dont know if it is a good deal or not but I paid him what he asked. $400 including a Bushnell Buckhorn scope, a soft case, 1-5 rnd, 3-10 rnd and 3-20 rnd mags. It does not appear to have been shot much and has the wood stock. 187 series. The 20 rnd mags look unused. He has 960 rnds of Wolf he is asking $200 for.
Was this a fair deal or a charity case?

Man! I think you did well also! Did you buy the ammo too? That was like icing on the cake!

A quick google search of Ruger Mini 30 shows these retailing new for north of $650.00 so if it's good condition plus the scope I'd say you got a pretty good deal.

I think you got a pretty good deal. If i could find a mini 30 for that price around here i would jump on it. Every time i have seen one in fair shape the seller is asking $500+.

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like I came out OK. I have been wanting a 30 cal but did not want to buy an AK. I did see a brand new Saiga in the gun shop for $469.

I was asking around recently about the pro's and con's of the Mini 30 because I'm a big Mini 14 fan. The only negative issue I consistently heard is that many of them don't like Russian ammo.

BTW, $400. is an excellent deal.
