Don't hold my feet to the fire on this, but I seem to recall the reason the Mini-30 was chambered in 7.62x39 was because Ruger couldn't make the 7.62x51 work.

They did make 100 rifles in 308, the XGI model but was not offered to the public.

They would sell the crap out of those if they offered them to the public! I imagine Springfield wouldn't like them though...

really depends on price...if they were under a grand...springfield would feel it for sure...and not in a good way.

I'd go with the mini just because I'd like a 7.62x39mm rifle.

I wonder how much modifying it would take to make it work. I'd rather have a 30-06 than a .308. There are plenty of .308 semi autos out there. How many semi auto 30-06s with detachable mags (that hold more than 5 rounds) do you know of?

Even if someone make a reproduction of the BAR (the original one) I'd probably still buy it despite its weight if the price was right.

how many mini guns do y'all own? if/when you got another, which mini would it be?

i'll start....i only own one mini ....a stainless ranch you have seen many pictures of ....i love it, but i have gotten it looking and shooting pretty much how i want....so, all that is left is shooting it!

i can't justify another mini in my small "collection." just too many holes in my gun hobby to justify a duplicate of ANY gun, even a gorgeous mini..i could probably sell another gun & get it....but like i said....with so few guns...2 minis seems a bit much.

once upon a time, the stainless mini tactical was quite a rarity. however, ruger has listed them again as standard staple...man, i don't know why, but i would really like to have one.

SO....if i could get another mini tomorrow...it would be a stainless tactical!
i've already got a spare wood stock waiting for it!
Don't have one, never seen one in person, but I plan on getting at least one. Had to build my AR first.
