How do you make a "homemade" barrel strut for the mini 14?
Ive heard of people who are "artistically inclined" and instead of dumping 80-120 bucks on a strut, they went and made their own. I would like to at least attempt this on my mini. The only thing is, well, how? What do I need to do? Also, my mini has a blued barrel, how would i make the colorations alike? Thanks in advance!

Several have gotten the strut affect from clamping on the tri-rail UTG clamps. I have done this with my standard mini and 6.8 they cost around $20-30. You can and a piece of rod to the aluminium clamp for more stability or a small laser or flashlight, I just use the clamp. Have not decided if I need a red/green laser yet.
