It sounds like some parts of the bolt and op rod need to wear in a little. Does the bolt stick a little in the closed position? I had use a rubbing compound on my gas pipe to keep from stocking, cycle by hand about 20 x for best results.

I have the same gun and it throws brass a great distance. I was even considering getting an adjustable gas block to tune it down a bit. (I usually shoot AE 223 55 gr.)

That said, I too would recommend a good cleaning then shoot it again. If the problem still exists, send it back and Ruger will make it right.
