Default Bayonet Lug relocation

Is it possible to relocate the bayonet lug/sight to install a barrel strut, and is it advisable?

The firearm is a composite stock police surplus unit with 7 inches of barrel space and flash suppressor. Recently purchased, and like it a lot.

Welcome to FTF, a lot of people ignore posts by someone unless they have introduced themselves right over here. Pssst, if you can't tell the word here is a link so click it.

I got the answer to my question from a local gunsmith, so this thread can be disregarded. The Shilen barrel idea in the accurizing series is interesting.

I will introduce myself formally at the referenced link.

I ended up grinding off the bayonet lug from the bottom of the sight/lug assembly and installing the Accu-Strut I purchased.
