I'm looking at putting together a mini Tactical with poly sporter stock as a swappable platform for scopes and a light. I have a 1.5x4 Leo in Warne q.d. rings. Have decided on the ultimak for dot or scout scope mounting. Now I'm thinking that a one o'clock mount attached to an ultimak might be a good place to hang a TLR 1. Has anyone tried anything like this? Is it just too high or in the way? Maybe I should just have Ken Hadaway make me a taper barrel light mount?

Does the Ultimak have a 45 deg mount on the front? I have an Amegaranges rail and it comes with a 45 deg mount that can be placed on either side. Have you considered UTG clamps on the barrel? I have one on my 6.8 mini that works like a strut.
