.222 Mini 14 Ranch Rifle
I love my Mini 14! My trusty ranch rifle was the first firearm I purchased. I remember I bought it used for 500 dollers at the gun store right after I turned 18...I know I bought it used but I swear this rifle never had a shot fired out of it. It was still in the box and still had the packing grease or whatever it is on it. Maybe it was just the owner cutting a guy a break! However my Mini 14 is NOT a 5.56 it is a .222 Remington. Does anybody have any exp with these? Are they worth less or more? I am not looking to sell becuase well I have had this firearm for a number of years and it is by far one of my favorites. Also if I sold this to anyone my father would surely disown me as his son...(It is his favorite too) Thanks Everybody!

I'm afraid your .222 model is not worth as much, as Ruger no longer supports that model. But, you never know, it might carry some collector value someday since it is chambered differently.

Yep, hang on to it. The .222 is a great round and it's starting to get a bit hard to find a Mini chambered in that caliber. ;) I'd like to have one, just to have.

The main reason the Mini was chambered in .222, was for export. Some countries don't allow their civilians to own firearms chambered in a military round such as the 5.56. Hence the .222 chambering in the Mini-14...

Thanks everyone for the information! I really enjoy the .222 chambering on this rifle, the only thing is the price of the ammo! Oh well guess it is time for me to start reloading.
