Keep in mind to call your range before bringing them with you. I'll never go back to Red's in Austin again. If their rules were safety based, I'd respect them. But their rule about targets has NOTHING to do with safety and everything to do with vanity. Requiring "NRA" or "Reds Range" on the targets is moronic.

I really hate stupid political crap interfering with my shooting.

I sure will thank you. I would probably not go to the range I have a friend that lets us use their property so I got lucky there

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Yeah you certainly did luck out. That's something I've been aching for, the chance to get out in the open country side with my rifle on my back and my mags in my pouches and the sky is the limit. I honestly hate going to the ranges as my only choice to get out and pop some rounds. It's expensive and restrictive as hell. And more often then not, those restrictions are politically related and have little or nothing to do with shooter/range safety.

stupid question mosh...can you write on the targets NRA or Reds which magic marker. or does it have to be officially printed on there. Or is that just way to much trouble.

LOL, all of those thoughts went through my head. I doubt they'd go for the magic marker trick at all. But I was thinking of other alternatives to getting NRA on there that looks at least semi-official. The problem isn't the letters though, it's the NRA symbol to make it look official. I thought of various stamping methods and such, but the cost of the custom stamp is prohibitive to this project, thought not outright discarded as an idea yet. Since I'd only have to buy the stamp once, and use it to stamp all of my targets I have, and save it for future ones, it wouldn't be a totally wasted investment towards getting to use this stack of targets I have now.

That just sounds so awesome!

Edit: Thanks to your cool idea, I have talked my wife into us getting a bunch of watermelons on our way out to a friends property to go shooting in a couple weeks. This will be more fun then I thought. And I already thought it was going to be a lot of fun, but this is the cherry on top of the sunday kinda thing.

Cheap targets that you don't have to clean up... Can't beat that.

Apples, oranges, pears, and peppers are awesome for about 20-30 yards. Melons make great 50+ yard targets, plus they explode.
