I like going to the dollar store. Every town has one and there is tons of fun stuff to shoot at. Halloween decorations, goblets, three liter soda bottles, canned soup, so many possibilities! Stock up right after Halloween at all the stores. Life sized skeletons and hanging mummies get cheap.

Default My Favorite Target

Here is my favorite target. I bought this steel target last summer at a gun show & just got the chance to get it to the range to try it out. When I bought this target the guy that was selling them told me that this one will take as much as a .223 hit but not to use a .30-06 on it. It cost me $40 I think & it is about 12" tall.

So I took it to the range & gave it a try with the .223 AR first shooting at a distance of 75yds.
Here is a picture of what small amount of damage was done from the .223 rounds

It had such small amount of damage from the .223s that I thought I would give my AK47 (7.62x39) a try, here is the results of my test.
It was from steel sights so I only got one hit.

Then in my test I gave my AK74 (5.45x39) a try, but this was surplus steel core ammo so I expected some damage maybe a hole through it. I took only one shot first to see what happened, that was the mark at the top of the paddle. After walking out & back I took another shot to get a good hit, here is what I got.

There wasn't much damage by any of the rounds I fired & was a lot of fun.
I need to pick up a few more of these to have competitions with friends.
We could start at 75yd mark & see how far you could push it with a 30rd mag full of ammo.

Paintballs on golf tees. I put them in front of some blank white paper. Makes a nice bright splatter.

Here are a few of my favorite things to shoot at..

Sams extra large charcoal briquettes 22lr. Make a great puff of black smoke, and a bag goes a long way.Since organic no need to pick up.
Marshmellows for 22lr take several hits
Necco wafers 22lr *MY SECRET Buy a can of spray adhesive for the range kit. Its amazing just how many numerous targets you can stick in place/patterns with this stuff.

Easter is here! Buy up some of the plastic eggs that go on sale after Sunday.
You need
8Plastic eggs
*fish line
*hot glue gun or super glue
*flour
*a bit of gravel or sand
Basically add into egg a bit of sand or gravel or small rock for weight~add in flour for strike signature~Hot glue egg halves together`~Take length of fishing line glue end to top of egg, create hanging loop on other end. Take to range and set a various yardages, Now improve your skills when you hit the flour signature is an instant feedback. (pick up afterwards)
