Drive a nail into a golf ball. Tie a string to it and hang it from a wooden frame. Once you hit it the first time you have a swinging target.

My favorite targets are sillohettes. I put playing cards on them for the heart.

Try shooting a playing card at 20 yards. It will force you to slow down.

Got some targets wifeypoo prints off.Too lazy to go measure the Black...probably a 3" 5 ring....duh.White balance,with another White,10 ring.Shoot at distances with DBL action #14 S$W
(wadcutters)....looking for 80% or so,"in the black"...then build consistency at that ydg, then move her on back.

Poppin off Coke cans @75 yds DBL action when the kids come home, showing off.Usually leaves them and their friends scrambling a bit.Hey,I practice.

I guess I should have said ice...it has a nice effect with a plastic Maxwell House container. The first one or two rounds from an AR will launch the top off, the rest will send chunks of ice in the air upon impact. Just something different.

I like to shoot dimes. They are ten for a dollar. Gets pretty challenging out beyond 300 yards though.

In order to be even more (historically) accurate you should be shooting pennies.

Soda cans or beer cans. Shake em up and have at it.

And not so much bigger that they make a less suitable target. Then again, you might want to shine it up to make it brighter.
