My favorite targets are moving and edible targets.

Frozen stuff, of course, but what I really liked to hit with some high power rifle or hollow point Magnum rounds we're cans of creamed corn and condensed tomato soup. What a mess!
This was of course when I lived out in the woods. None of my local ranges are too keen on the idea.

I shoot toy plastic baseballs. They bounce around when you hit them and you can shoot them several hundred times w/ a .22.

Paper plates obviously OK though If your looking for something swinging, check out this self sealing ball at http://www.championtarget.com/targets/interactive/duraseal.aspx It's pretty crazy when you hit it.

Fairfax. Closest fun I know of is Cove Campground, which has an outdoor range. I would live to just find some land to go plinking on, but around here, that's a no-go.

Soda cans, scrap steel from the farm, or cheap random things from goodwill

Ammo is too scarce and too expensive so this is the type of target i shoot at now.

My favorite? What I have in hand. I use so many its hard to choose. Shoot n sees, pictures of game animals from old magazines, any sort of plastic bottle or can like old medicine or coffee cans, coal, fruit, ceramics like old knick knacks, clays, and lots of steel hangers! Old toys and most anything intended for the trash can be shot at first!!!
