Went and shot a little today.
My friend Ryan and I went to the range early this morning. We were the only shooters on the rifle range for quite a while.
I took my newly restocked Savage 12-223,Rock River AR15-223,and my Savage 10FCP-308.
As usual,I don't ever think about taking a camera to the range until I'm half way there,so no range pics.
Ryan also had his Stevens 200-223,an AR15-223,and a Savage 308 that he assembled a few months ago.
Both of us shoot left handed,so we always get the LH area of the range. They have 4 benches set up for us lefties. All shots were at 100 yards.
I started off with the Rock River AR15.I took several different handloads that usually shoot really good, but I wasn't shooting all that great today.
The best I could do was with the Sierra 69gr HPBT Matchkings. 5 shots= .457" ,my 2nd set was 1.186"
I also shot Hornady 75gr BTHP Match Moly,1st set= 1.218" 2nd set= .689"
Next were 2 of my hunting rounds,Speer 70gr SP = .867",and Sierra 65gr SP Gamekings,a disappointing 1.339"
I then grabbed the Savage 12,and put it though it's paces.I love the way this thing shoots.I just wish I'd done my part.
1st up were 3 sets of Hornady 75gr BTHP Match Moly, each set is loaded with different powders,BL-C(2) - Reloader 15 -and Varget. This rifle likes this bullet.
Groups ranged .536",.614",.677"

Regardless of group size, that is some good shooting TX. All of the groups, considering the information, is very well done.
Kudos sir.

Next up was Hornady 75gr AMax Moly. These or me shot like crap,a big whoppin 1.476".I have shot these very well out of this rifle before.
Last up for this rifle was the Sierra 69gr BTHP Matchking,as usual,I blow a 1/4" group on the last shot, and turn it into a +.500" group.
Bring out the big iron, the Savage 10FCP.Shooting over 1" with this rifle is hard to do,but if anyone can screw things up,it's me.
Started off with Sierra 200gr Matchkings loaded up with Varget and Reloader 15.
I haven't messed with this bullet much,so I'm still trying to find the right combo for them. The groups ranged from .532",.783",1.004",1.051",and 1.086"
This is a 5 shot 4 hole group,go figure!
Next was one of my favorite bullets,the Hornady 208gr AMax.My shooting wasn't good,but they still went 3/4". 2 sets- .730" and .762"
I shot 1 set of Hornady 168gr BTHP Match,it went .939"
Then ended with 2 sets of hornady 168gr AMax,another great shooting bullet. Groups were .657" & .842"
Even though my aim was a little off,we had a very fun time at the range today.

God, we just need to spend more time together, that's all there is to it.
There is so much I could teach you.

That's some pretty good shooting no matter what.
Hey, wait a minute! Are those powder burns on those targets?

Man,I really don't know how to take that. What are you drinking/smoking,Lon?
Some people might think weird thoughts with words like that. Ha Ha Ha!
I do need to get down to your place and take a break from the rat race.

Dang it CA,you figured out my secret to shooting groups.
I really couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a scattergun,if I was 10 feet from it.
I will give 99% of the credit to my shooting to the weapon itself,I'm just the idiot behind it.
These rifles are very, very accurate,I on the other hand,am not.
