That is typically known as the "self defense range". That is the range most self defense situations occur. You probably aren't going to shoot in self defense from 25 yards and it would be hard to justify you felt threatened enough to shoot someone at 25 yards Most people practice accuracy at the distance they will most likely need to be accurate. I sometimes shoot much further distances but for me that is just for fun and to challenge myself.

Great shooting kaido, and standing on your head besides!

75370,

Thank you! The lesson for it is this. I had just got the rifle and it was the first day to my range with the old girl!! I had six different variants of 150 Grain 7MM Rem. Mag. rounds and various manufacturers.
Winchester
Federal Premium
Federal Fusion
Remington Cor-Lokt
Remington Accu-Tip
Hornady SST
I am a Federal Ammunition fan and have been for years followed by Hornady a close second. But as you can see she liked one version of ammunition much better than she liked any of the others. Not that the others were bad which were in the 1 MOA area when tested. So for now I am feeding her what she likes best which is the Remington 150 Grain Accu-Tips. And also using them in Texas to hunt deer with. They have so far done the job without fail! Moral of the story when you find the right round for the weapon it's like pulling in the slack on a hangman's noose! Thanks for the compliment!

I'm not a marksman like you guys. I've practiced with my Sig P250c 40sw like in the SHTF situations. You know, point and shoot with three shots a second apart. The range forbade rapid firing so the second apart timing kept me from getting kicked out. I also practiced with the HPs I'm going to use for SD. Also all shooting was at 25 feet (or 8 yards.)

I got the Sig in March and the targets shown is in order of my visits to the range.

The first pic is a ten round bench rest test for accuracy.

The rest are two hand standing. 50 rounds each time.

And today's shooting.

This was my 100 yard zero for the 300 Win. Mag. 1000 yard target rifle. The barrel is shot out now and a new one will be on the way.

100-yard-zero-1017.2010-001.jpg

In about 2 weeks the new 260 Rem. target rifle will be done and it will take over for this 1000 yard endevour. When the 300 Win. Mag. is rebarreled it will be semi retired.
