I plan to post pictures of a couple of targets afterwards also. Like first hits and after I get the scope all aligned.
LOL!

Well due to unforeseen technical difficulties I was unable to make it to the range yesterday. (The wife had other plans for me.) So it was either go shoot, and leave with her upset or reschedule. I decided that a little rescheduling was the smarter choice.
I am going to the range today, and the wife will come this time also. It will be her first time at a gun range. We do not plan on her shooting, as I want her to take a safety course first. I could show her everything I have learned, but I would rather have someone that she would listen to walk her through it all!

Ok, the wife and I went to the range yesterday. We got there about 20 minutes before it would open, I saw a couple of members were there so I got out to talk for a bit with them. I was talking with one of them and he asked what I was shooting today, so I told him, and he said there was going to be a rifle competition soon as the range opened, if enough people showed up. So we waited around till 8, and I went into the club house and found out their was enough people that showed up for the competition, so we decided to go home instead of wait around. Not going today because of it being Cinco de Mayo and will be crowded, so maybe tomorrow.

sitting, stock resting on sandbags, Remington 700 30-06 from 200 meters (218 yards). 51 degrees no wind (hence no excuses)

Remington core-lockt 150 gr. soft point. The low one is my fouling shot. I figure this is MOD (minute-of-dear) out to 500-600 yards, although, I would not take a game shot from that distance

I finally made it back to the range yesterday. I got there about a half hour after they opened, and their was only one other person there. He had a beautiful Modern era M14.
This is a 100 yard only range. I started out with 20 rounds at my target and when I got to go look at it to see where I was hitting. I had the thought of taking my targets back for a refund. I figured they must be bullet proof!
With an idea from the other person shooting about aiming at the berm in between the targets to see which way I needed to adjust I was able to get on paper. I was originally off approximately 16 inches to my left. So I made a large adjustment to the scope and got on paper, with a few more adjustments I was hitting just high and to the right of the bullseye. and decided I would have to come back another time to finish my adjustments as the wind was blowing from left to right at about 10mph yesterday. It is going to be windy all week, so I am not sure when I will be able to get back, but hopefully next week.

I've had those bulletproof targets before - never did get a refund, either.

I took the wife up to a place we could shoot in the mountains yesterday, and she did ok I think. Hers is the first picture of 8 hits out of about 12 rounds at 20 feet. She could not jack one into the chamber though, so she will be needing a revolver.
The second picture is my 20 rounds at 20 feet. 19 decent shots and one in the upper right corner barely hitting the target. I then adjusted the sights a bit after that first shot.

Oh yeah. Happy with this group. This is 25 meters with my AR right after sighting it in, using the MBUS rear sight. It took me almost 30 rounds. But I think it was more eye sight and not being patient. I also changed out the targets every four shots till I got it sighted. imageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1399917808.018591.jpg
