while it is true you can't set up a bench while hunting, a resourceful hunter knows how to improvise, and to use things around him to his advantage to get a stable rest for shooting if possible.

Lookin' good there on the groups mopowerbmx! Those Ruger Target 10/22s will shoot

I agree Axxe a resourceful and seasoned hunter will find any means to steady that rifle for that one shot if possible.

I also believe bench time developing accurate loads, practicing with the firearm, memorizing the trigger, and practicing long range from the bench help develop skills used in the field.

We hunted on my wife's grandmothers farm/ranch nearly 800 acres for 20 years. We would set targets up in the rolling pastures any where from 100 yds out to 600 yds and practice from a bench, because after the first time seeing how big the crop fields were on the farm?
We knew we needed long range practice! LOL

Do you ever post what happens when your game is off? I was trying to show that I could regularly hit Thugly at 100 yards standing...which normally I can...and as soon as the camera started rolling, things went down hill. It turned out funny enough to make a video anyway, even if it does show me on a bad day.

Hope you enjoy it.

I'm going to go to the range today and try again to see if I can adjust the 4X28 scope on my SKS. I got the windage screw to loosen up so that I can adjust it some, I also realigned the receiver on the rear. It was off to the right to begin with. I also added some nail polish to the mounting screws for the scope so that hopefully it will stop coming loose. Oh and the nail polish is not mine, just incase you were wondering.
The wife supplied that.

Wasn't ashamed, was just trying to give anyone reading a decent laugh.
I plan to post pictures of a couple of targets afterwards also. Like first hits and after I get the scope all aligned.
