It's rear but it can happen with any firearm that ejects the brass

I think that 45 is a bit of a hoss for her frame. I'd have her shoot a .40 or even a 9mm. Work on getting her skill set to consistently shooting COM @15yards. Good on you for taking her out and sharing/teaching.

Much respect

Try to keep them in the 10 ring,it will help keep your groups tight as you move out to the 25.

Insted of just shooting straight head shots. Start practising triple taps. 2 to the chest 1 to the head draw an imaginary line just below the nose on the target the head shot has to hit the line or above to count. Work on being "fluid" with your three shots speed will come automatically.

If you have acces to an outdoors range with reactive steel targets, you can really work on your skill sets.

Much respect

Well I will admit that I am far from an expert. Until six weeks ago I had never touched a handgun, and last fired a .22 rifle when I was a kid some 40 years ago. I've rented a couple of 9mm and a G23 and fired about 400 rounds to date. Just bought a Glock 22 gen 4 and this was my first try with it at 7 yards. Should have quit after this first shot Second one was the rest of the round.

I know I have some work to do:

I was shooting both 45 and 9mm at 15 yards. Was trying out a shot timer app on my cell phone. Practicing shooting against a clock and trying to concentrate on getting the good sight picture before firing. First two shots I always rush, then I settle down. Trying to fix that.

Used a 530 target (5 large oval spots on a huge sheet of paper). Even so, my first two spots had a bunch of shots that were lucky to be within 8 inches of center. Not inside an 8" diameter circle (like an IDPA zero ring), more like at the edge of a 16" diameter circle!

Fortunately, I have no pix, so I can still pretend it didn't happen...
