There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I recently acquired this beauty from a fellow forum member, and am extremely proud to say that I have my very own m14 clone:

go big or go home, right?

Well today was the first day (almost) above freezing here in WI, so I had to get her to the range.
Time: 11:00
Temp: 30 degrees F
Wind: >5 mph shifting directions
Light: nice light although the reflection off the snow was interesting
Ammo: FGMM 175 (i know it's overkill at 100 for paper, but that's what the scope was 0'ed with)
Breakfast: Banana

setup at the range:

as you can see, a backpack used as a front rest.

the view from my chair:

They were kind enough to plow a path to our targets, which was a bonus:

Pictures of the targets are on post #5 of this thread.

Range Trip 2.12.11 009 by nlcarlisle005, on Flickr
Cold bore shot at 10:30, not as good a group, but not terrible.

Target 3:

cold bore at 9 o'clock again.

I think we understand each other. I can't wait to put some rounds down range when I don't mind spending ALL DAY at the range, was a bit chilly for that today. I'm pretty excited to get to work with the irons on this beast too, was too wussy to spend more time out than I had.

I tried some Prvi Partizan .308 (again 175 for consistency), but wasn't too impressed (about minute of Grapefruit):

other rifles were shot on this trip, but nothing worth noting.
All-in-all, was a great day at the range!!

Congratulations on the new rifle. It looks like you two will get along just fine.

M14sRock 02-14-2011 01:20 AM

Outstanding!! Is it an M21, or just in an M21 stock? M25?

Lets see some close up pics of the action area and mount.

Barrel markings? Trigger group markings?

Palmetto State Armory has your 175gr FGMM on sale for $19.99 per box.

edit-Disregard my questions, I know where you got it. You lucky stiff.
