380 Bodyguard...Oh, just writing that down. Would probably make a great back-up or boot gun. Great report!

You guy figure this is probably a good close range, last resort kind of weapon?

Hey guys, new to the site and thought I'd add my 2 cents to the discussion. I've had my Bodyguard for about six months. Carry it every day and love it. Click below for a full review including video...

Im looking to buy one but I have to buy it from a cop since I'm in CA. Any cops looking to offload one or an LCP?

In CA we have the approved roster of handguns. Any NEW handgun sold in a store must be on the roster, which means it meets the mechanical and safety guidelines outlined by the state. Used handguns that are sold "private party" are not subject to the roster requirements. And LEOs are not subject to the roster. That is odd because the roster was implemented as a safety issue, but somehow LEOs are not required to carry "safe" handguns? The first lawsuit filed after someone is shot by a cop with an "unsafe" handgun should get the roster nullified.

Agreed. The irony is that if anyone here wants something that is NOT on the roster, it can still be registered to them if done private party. So a friend can bring it in from another state, or a LEO friend can buy one and then do a PPT to anyone.

In CA, ALL of our gun laws fall apart under scrutiny. And they don't like it when gun cases go to court because they are afraid of having a bad pres set when the case is thrown out. It is all very weird.

Default Lcp

Yea. It's weird but I'm getting my CCW so I want the LCP. Any cops interested should email me & I'll be happy to pay a little extra.

Make sure you handle an LCP before you buy one. They dont hold right for me and they are brutal to shoot on the range. The Kel-Tec P3AT holds better for me but is also brutal to practice with. The S$W Bodyguard is not as bad. The best one I have shot is the Sig 238 which is a copy of a Colt 380. Word is that Colt is bringing back their pocket 380s. Keep in mind, you will have to put a couple hundred rounds through your semi to break it in and find out if it is reliable. It has to be reliable with your carry ammo and that out gets expensive. If you buy used, dont believe the seller if he tells you it is reliable. Find out for yourself. Consider a light snubby as they are not ammo sensitive and easier to shoot.
I only carry my 380 when I cant carry anything else.
