Don't let it discourage you. Some may have problems, yes. The new ones have remedied the problem, as I understand it. Rem 700 is a great rifle.

Get a smaller caliber, if you don't like the recoil.

Good advice Chandler. They make them in all sorts of cals.

The coolest 700 so far.

Good friend of mine just got that rifle in .308 win. Factory threaded for a suppressor. I bet with a supp, in that .300 blk it would be quiet!

Surprisingly inexpensive...he has a little over $500 in the rifle, IIRC.

Well more accurate than I am...

Haha I was actually wondering if it came in 308, only shot the M1A (M14) in that cal, even though it was the NATO format. I actually like the fact there wasn't an excessive amount of recoil to it.

7.62 nato/308 has almost no recoil as a general rule.

I kind of wish I knew that sooner.
I've always heard guys tell stories about shooting .308s an always thought "dude, I'd probably fall over first shot" but now I know.

Just because I'm on the curious side now, how would you rank the. .308 compared to the .243 in regards to recoil?

Who's rule?

If you're shooting it out of a heavy rifle maybe, but...

The 308 doesnt kick much harder than a 243. And iv shot them out of everything from a pistol to a m1a. So ya they dont USUALLY kick bad. I have shot a few 308 rifles that kick like a mule. Weatherby vangaurds tend to kick harder than normal
