Range report Ruger 10/22
My wife had my 10/22 redone for me for Christmas with a Kidd barrel, a new stock, and a Weaver T-36 scope.
I am new to competition, and here is one of my targets:

Obviously, I have a lot to learn.
I shot a lot of two types of ammo, Lapua and Wolf. The rifle clearly liked the Wolf a lot more than the Lapua. That's great, because it's a LOT cheaper.

Looking forward to many days of friendly competition at the gun club.

Lon you might want to give Wolf Match Target a try as well. Its even cheaper than the Match Extra and the MT has outperformed MExtra in all my 22's.
Also If you have a set of scales I've found you can slightly increase your accuracy by sorting your ammo by weight. Just a tip
Nice Shooting and Congrats!
Oh yeah-I almost forgot

You should try to wipe the powder burns off the targets. It may be more belivable that way.
JK nice shooting.

...and thanks for the tip on the ammo, I will definitely check it out.
Your tip about weighing the cartridges is really interesting. Sometimes I get a flyer that is just baffling, when I swear I pegged it. Maybe that could have something to do with it.

You got it exactly right.
Weighing really seems to help get rid of the odd flyers(especially on "cheaper" ammo)
I usually just dump a brick and sort into groups by .1grains. Usually they all are within a few tenths but every now and then you'll get one that is WTF?
Some guys will sort by rim thickness as well but I've never tried that.
