Sooting looks good. Can you show the porting on the 1911? I've never seen one ported before.

The original thread has a pic of the porting. There are 4 ports on each side of the barrel and the appropriate slots cut into the top of the slide...

How much of a difference can you feel with the porting? How about change in velocity? Good shooting by the way!

With SD ammo I did notice a difference with a bit less muzzle flip. I'm sure velocity goes down but I have no idea how much. I did not notice a lot of flash or fire and I didn't find the porting distracting at all - which surprised me...

I like ambi-safety on my 1911's too, I just get my pocket knife & cut a little piece out of the other side's grip.
