*Old Thread*

Thats got to give you a warm and fuzzy on the inside. You should be proud knowing you just taught her a valuable skill. Especially something as important as self defense for a young woman. Gongrats. Hope my 2 year old son takes it up with that same enjoyment. He's a little ahead of the curve, he found a little airsoft pistol my brother lost. He loves it when I rack the slide and he gets to put his eye up to it to sight and pull the trigger. He loves the click sound and the sound of air shooting out. (I dont have any pellets for it, thank god) I think I will start him off with an air rifle, then move up to an air pistol, then a .22, then follow the progression as he gets older. You're a lucky man Cane.

Awesome story! Good to hear the bond of a father and daughter over a good range outing and firearms! You are fortunate indeed

Default Cool!

I don't have kids, (I guess I am one,) but I take my nephews and nieces shooting when they come down. My one nephew hits a 8x12 inch target at 300 yards regularly, even with my iron sighted Eddystone US Model of 1917.

I love to see new shooters do well!
...
unless they are shooting at me. :P

Mari-Kate had her 18th birthday last week and I got her a Colt Umarex M4 OPS made by Carl Walther. Nice all metal .22LR carbine.

My daughter's first shooting experience! - Range Report

I think she likes it!

The 30 year old ammo gave her plenty of opportunities to run some FTF/FTE drills. I think I see some new ammo in the future. A lot of new ammo, this thing is a hoot to shoot!

This was the first time she shot a rifle!

She's a natural!

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Just plain freakin' awesome, Cane. One of my favorite threads of all time has become just plain epic and just plain freakin' awesome.

My allergies are acting up a bit, so I will leave you with that.

That's just wonderful. She is a very impressive young lady and you have every right to be proud of her.

Please don't harp on my video skills or I'll turn the gun on you. I promise to get better. I got a new camera for Christmas and I'm getting use to it.

This starts slow but wait it out. I'm doing Mozambique drills with the camera clipped to my t-shirt. Obviously it isn't pointed in the right direction but it's worth the wait because Mari-Kate is in view when she shoots the Browning for the first time:

She's a natural. Has Mary Kate expressed any interest in competition?
