Default Mosin is getting there

I did some more tweaking and went to the range to see if it helped. It's not a tack driver but with some commercial ammo, a better trigger, and younger eyes it may be, The wind was 5-8 mph from 45 degrees of angle over my right shoulder, humidity 69 percent, sunny and dry. I tried 147gr czek FMJ and 147gr FMJ Russian lt ball. Although it doesn't appear to be better on these targets, The Czek ammo seems to out shoot the Russian considerablly.

not bad. thats about what my mosins do with similar ammo. damn fun guns to shoot.

just be careful they tend to replicate in gun safes...

Thanks for sharing your range report. I love shooting my mosin. So much fun and ammo is so cheap. I plan on buying about 3 more mosin's to though in the gun safe just to have them. Best $100 you can spend.

I love my mosin best $112 I've ever spent, cheap to shoot, and uber fun to shoot. That is some nice shooting, very respectable, thanks for sharing.

Almost like rabbits. You wind up with more than you know what to do with.

I have 4 but I don't think I'm cured yet, 2 I havent shot yet, 1 my wife doesn't know about, and 1 on the way. If you have a rifle with a trigger you think is too hard or long just take it with you to the range when you shoot your Mosin, then shoot it. Better now?

Dteed, tell us some about the tweaking you've been doing. Mine is about as accurate as yours and I haven't done anything to it, I'd be interested in possibly tweaking it. Been thinking about floating the barrel, and the trigger pull on mine is excellent, a bit heavy, but breaks clean and crisp. I also want to throw some mojo tandem peeps on it.

it says 50 yds on the targets. I missed that too, I was thinking 100 yds. I must be really lucky, because this is about what mine will do at 100, maybe open up the group just a little bit, but mine will hit all in black at 100 on that size target.
