I was going to go primitive a few years back. Bought some cedar shafts and fletched my own arrows, dug out the old recurved bow and finger tabs and couldn't get the dang arrows to stick in the target at 30 yards.
The arrows didn't go to waste as I gave them to a boy scout leader a couple months back for some kind of award ceremony. The troop sent me a picture with their arrow awards and that put an extremely large smile on my lips.
God, Family, Guns, in that order.
