DefaultLittle RIA

Took the plain jane RIA .45 to the range this morning and put 100 rounds thru it. Never been a big fan of tiny GI sights but I did reasonably well at 25 feet. This target is the first 20 rounds, fired at a quick pace from 25 feet. Everything is in the 9 ring so I can't complain. This is the first 1911 I've had that bit me - so I'll probably bob the hammer just a tad. Not going to invest anything in it so that will be the quickest fix...

Thanks Dune. Just broke it down and cleaned it and since it was apart I drug out the Dremel and bobbed the hammer a tad. Shortened it maybe 3/32 and reshaped the back side so it wont pinch or bite. Hit it with some cold blue and it's all back together ready for the next outing...

Looks like a keeper there Dave, and it seemed to have performed well on your first date. Nice shooting there Pin master, that fella is a dead fella!

Wow. Really nice shooting Dave. For being a plain Jane out of the box, she seems to shoot quite nicely. With a little love and TLC, I am betting you have your hands on a real winner.

Congrats!

I was pretty impressed that it shot to POA quite well. I can say honestly that 25 feet is about the max for the tiny GI sights. Looks like this will make a good truck of nightstand gun. I'll shoot it again this week to check out the quick hammer bob I did today...

Had to get some stuff from Brownell's so I got an adjustable bow trigger and a Commander style hammer for this little guy. I relieved the grip safety a tad for the hammer ring (ala my Colt Commander) and she's ready to shoot again...
