Default hornady critical defense ammo

I bought a box of hornady critical defense ammo for my home defense ammo and took it to the range today for a test run. I fired two rounds through my glock 23 and had a failure to feed. The rubber tip jammed on the feed ramp. I then had two more failure to feeds. I want to like this ammo but by performance today don't feel its dependable. Any thoughts? What do you guys carry for personal defense ammo?

I keep it in my 357 but have not tried it in an auto. I picked up a box of 380 to try.

I carry it in a 3.5 in 1911. Never had any issues getting it to feed. Ran flawlessly and shot very well.

I'm going to stick with it and chalk it up to a bad batch. I really think it is a great home defense round, just was frustrated with the feeding problems.

You need to get hollowpoints which are less aggressive.

HCD is great, runs thru my 1911, but gets caught feeding

on a lot of autos.

Try to find defensive ammo with a much smaller front

cavity, and try again.

I prefer a Winchester PDX1 or Ranger but have used the critical defense and never had a problem. I also have my feed ramps polished in all of my guns.
