Interesting. The Browning and Remington were the only two that blew
violently?

A couple of others---Mannlicher and Tikka? had a little puff---maybe from
a blow-out where the barrel is stamped with caliber etc.?

Judging by the slo-mo views of the barrels ringing, I'm assuming they were using obstructed bores vs. high pressure rounds?

Any background info on this opaww?

IMO, it looks more like they just clamped the Barrel down to cause the problems. Notice all of the ones that exploded didn't move or moved slightly?
There's nothing that documents parameters, and IMO that the control is far too lacking.

The only thing I can find on this test is that it was conducted by the FMW (Swedish defence materiel administration) in -07, by request. I will try and find out about the standards of the test.

Yes it is a good video. A good way of driving home the need for being very careful when (re)loading ones own ammunition. Just imagine having your hand wrapped around the forearm of those weapons when they let loose.

There is a very good book that goes into all kinds of these types of tests and others, conducted by the US army on small arms. "Hatchers Notebook".
Interesting history, and a great reference book IMO.

WOW. That was pretty interesting. The A Bolt didn't send anything back to where the shooter's head would have been and the shooter would have been Remington would have gotten a few pics in the face but with glasses may have been okay. Both would have lost a hand though. That's some ugly stuff.
